Le groupement le plus répandu, le chênaie mixte, est décrit par la nouvelle association Polygonato multiflori - Quercetum roboris, qui présente trois sous-associations. L'étude est complétée par des exemples de peupleraies à Populus alba, aulaines à Alnus glutinosa, chênaies claires et xériques à Quercus pubescens et Q. robur.
Enfin sont examinés les problèmes et les perspectives de protection du milieu naturel de la vallée du Tessin, par suite de l'institut ion de Parcs régionaux en Lombardie et en Piémont." Le fond de la vallée, parcouru par la rivière Nera est le plus souvent étroit et tortueux et il a été cultivé depuis des temps très anciens. Par conséquent, la végétation riveraine, réduite et fragmentaire est représentée exclusivement par une mince bande, qui ne s'est développée que le long des rives et dans les boucles majeures.
Il s'agit d'une végétation arbustive et arborescente qui se classe dans le Saponario-Salicetum purpureae et dans deux groupements dont un à Salix alba et l'autre à Alnus glutinosa. Les trois types de végétation appartiennent aux unités phytosociologiques supérieures : Alno-Ulmion, Populetalia albae et Querco-Fagetea."
