The names Plantago acanthophylla, Plantago holosteum, Plantago holosteum f. vestita, Plantago penyalarensis, Plantago radicata, Plantago subulata f. grovesii (often referred to in recent literature as ‘Plantago grovesii Brullo’, an invalid name) and Plantago wulfeniiare critically treated here. All these names are synonymized under P. subulata, with the exception of P. penyalarensis, which is a synonym of Plantago alpina."
